Oswestry Otters Swimmer Lauren Griffiths recently achieved a remarkable set of results at the Holywell Open Gala.
Lauren broke the meet record in the 100m Butterfly which was 1:19.33 set in 2011 by Eliza Nash and shaved a massive 5 seconds off the time with a new gala record of 1:14.28.
She also went on to achieve 5 qualifying times for the Midlands Regional Finals.
She achieved times in
100 Fly @ 1:14:28,
100 Freestyle @ 1:08:60
100 Breaststroke @ 1:30:55
100 Backstroke @ 1:18:28
200 Backstroke @ 2:48:23
She set an amazing 8 personal bests shaving between 5 and 17 seconds off her previous best times. Lauren is aiming to get three more Midlands qualifying times between now and the end of March 2112.
Lauren puts her steep change in performance down to the coaching she has received at Otters and is clearly making great strides forward as last year she achieve Midlands qualifying times in just the 100M Backstroke, and 200M Backstroke.
WELL DONE LAUREN!!
